Combining the wisdom of 4 disciplines - nutrition, counseling, marriage and family therapy, and occupational therapy skills and techniques - to support
effective care for those with eating disorders.
We provide collaborative sessions that allow for comprehensive, cohesive, and streamlined care.
We believe that it is important to bring families into the treatment process early on.
Our group sessions provide support and education on eating disorders, sensory processing, and trauma healing.

Learn MoreI have been working in Occupational Therapy for the past 29+ years specializing in Sensory Processing Disorder. I have helped many individuals and families manage symptoms that come with sensory processing issues, such as autism, ADHD ,ADD, Eating Disorders, cutting, bipolar, behavior and emotional difficulties disrupting daily life. I have paired the sensory work with my counseling skills, as an LPC, LMFT, Certified EMDR therapist and Imago Therapist. EMDR, Imago, and Sensory work are effective counseling techniques in managing difficult behaviors, emotions and labels that may accompany these challenging situations. I have developed an effective expertise with Eating Disorders , Addiction, Trauma, Attachment Disorders, ADHD, OCD, and other diagnoses that have been difficult to treat and master. I used IMAGO relationship/couples Therapy along with these modalities to help rekindle or help develop the bond, trust and connection with others.
I am a registered and licensed dietitian in the state of Texas and am the owner of Taste of Life, LLC. I am a member of the American Dietetic Association and Past-President of Houston Eating Disorders Specialists. I worked for four years as a dietitian and wellness coordinator at The Methodist Hospital in Houston and was in private practice as a dietitian for five years through The Healthy Weigh. In 2010 I began my own private practice, Taste of Life, LLC and also joined Krista Highfield, Licensed Professional Counselor, in the development of Sentido Center LLC, an outpatient eating disorders and wellness facility. I first became interested in sensory work through learning how to best support my autistic son to thrive in life. I realized that the concepts I was learning to help him applied to many of the struggles of my clients. I have really enjoyed learning how my two worlds - personal and professional - are colliding to provide me with a richer knowledge base to share with others.
